Description
2 Tros yr Afon is a late-Georgian style, two-storey, four-bay house featuring rendered walls and a slate roof. It shares a rear wing with No 1 and has a central roughcast stack, along with a shared stack to the right. The entrance is through a half-lit boarded door located in the second bay, which has a renewed four-pane overlight above it. The lower storey is fitted with 16-pane horned sash windows, while the upper storey has 12-pane horned sashes, except for a small-pane fixed window positioned above the door.
A parallel rear wing, added in the 19th century, extends behind No 3 and includes replacement casement windows and a half-glazed door.
The house maintains its original lobby-entry plan, which features a hall on the right and a parlour on the left, both with back-to-back fireplaces. In the 19th century, an entrance hall was created on the right side of the entrance, leading to the blocking of the hall fireplace. The left-hand room showcases a 19th-century reed-moulded fireplace surround. A simple straight staircase, located in the rear wing, features a turned newel and plain balusters. The steep roof trusses are mostly hidden by ceilings and plasterwork, indicating that the walls were likely raised in the 19th century.
