Description

The Old Tramway Bridge is a Grade II listed structure made of sandstone ashlar and wrought iron. It features a three-span single track railway design, with two small side spans at the English end and a solid abutment at the Welsh end. At the English end, there are two semi-circular arches and three large sandstone piers. The bridge includes three spans of rivetted cross-braced wrought ironwork, with the track running through the girders that are separate over each span. The track bed has been boarded to serve as a footpath. This bridge spans the border between Wales and England, as well as between Monmouthshire and the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.
