Description
Linnhous is a building dated 1589, featuring two square towers that are attached at one corner. It traditionally has three storeys and a garret, constructed from rubble with a corbie-step gabled roof. The building includes a slated roof with a corbelled turret located in the northeast re-entrant angle, topped with a conical stone roof and a ball finial, along with lucarnes and a crenellated platform behind. Above the old entrance, which has been converted into a window, is a lintel inscribed with '1589 NISI DOMINUS FRUSTRA'. An L-planned addition was made to the east of the south tower around 1690, designed in a similar style and forming three sides of a yard. Inside, there is a vaulted basement in the north tower, a fine scale-and-platt stair in the addition, and several good rooms throughout the building.
