Description

The Patron's Pavilion, located at Broombank Terrace in the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park, was built around 1906. This small, simple, and symmetrical timber pavilion faces west towards the events field and features a central gable that incorporates a royal coat of arms. The main elevation includes fixed pane glazing above timber stall risers, and there are timber finials on the gables. The roof is pitched and covered with corrugated iron. A lean-to extension was added to the rear around 2005. When not in use, the main elevation is covered with a removable pale green painted timber boarded screen that spans the full width and height.

Adjacent to the pavilion is a private enclosure constructed around 1939. This rectangular-plan, symmetrical timber stand is situated to the right of the Patron's Pavilion and features three simple timber gables with V-shaped timber eaves detailing. It has an 8-tiered terrace with timber benches and is supported by braced, square timber columns that hold up the overhanging eaves. The roof is pitched and painted corrugated iron. The gables and the northwest (rear) elevation are clad in timber boarding, with two-pane fixed windows positioned close to the eaves on the northwest elevation.

The gatepiers, located to the northeast of the event field, date from the early to mid-20th century. These square-plan granite gatepiers feature V-chamfered rustication, a roll-mounded base course, and corniced caps. The right gatepier has a plaque displaying the coat of arms of the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife.
