Description
26 Baker Street in Stirling is an early 19th-century, three-storey and attic, three-bay terraced tenement featuring two shops at the ground level and a pend. The building is constructed of polished ashlar with painted render at the ground floor and rubble at the rear. It has projecting cills and a continuous fascia.
The south elevation facing Baker Street has five bays at the ground level. The central pend is flanked by two shops, with the shop on the left having a recessed entrance and 19th-century shop windows. The shop on the right features a modern shop window and a recessed entrance next to the pend. Above, the fenestration is regular, with two canted dormers that are slate hung and have bowed roofs.
On the north elevation, the central bay breaks the eaves with a later dormer head, and there are stair windows on each floor. The flanking bays have windows on the first and second floors.
The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing, while the rear features plate glass glazing on the centre and first floor to the left and right. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are gablehead stacks.
