Description
11 George Street in Doune is a two-storey terrace building designed by T MacLaren of Westminster in 1894, showcasing a distinctive asymmetrical layout in a bold Art Nouveau style. The exterior is harled and features red sandstone dressings. At the north end, there is an advanced bay with a turret to the right and an entrance at its base. The building includes round-headed porches with recessed doors, and half-diamond two-storey windows that are linked by a pentice roof over the projecting entrances and porches of numbers 5 and 7. To the left of the door to number 9, there is a turret with a decorative date panel located beneath the first-floor window. The south-west side has two bays with a corbelled and gabled angle bay, and the gables are crowstepped, except for the south-west gable. The roof is covered with slate.
