Description
The Clydesdale Bank, located at 1 Corn Exchange Road in Stirling, was designed by James Thomson of Baird and Thomson in 1900. This building features an Early Renaissance style with a three-storey curved frontage made of red ashlar. The ground floor is arched and rusticated, highlighted by a Roman Doric columned entrance. Above, there is a continuous consoled and balustraded balcony at the first floor level. The windows are framed in pilasters and adorned with decorative dormer heads, all richly sculptured. The building is topped with slated roofs.
