Description
52-54 Baker Street in Stirling is a traditional two-storey tenement building designed by Sir Frank Mears & Partners in collaboration with Stirling Burgh Architect in 1938, and completed around 1955. The building features a polished ashlar facade, with the east elevation harled.
On the south elevation facing Baker Street, there are shops at ground level. The first and second floors have a central window flanked by narrower windows, creating a tripartite effect.
The east elevation, which faces Morris Terrace, includes projecting cills and a door with a roll-moulded surround, leading into a full-height cantered stair tower at the northeast corner. The upper floors have windows on either side of the stair tower.
On the northeast elevation, there are bipartite stone mullions at ground level with smaller windows to the right and left. Above, on the first floor, there is a small window in the center, a slightly larger window to the right, and another window to the left.
The building features uPVC tilt and turn windows, grey slate roofing, and chimney stacks on the east and west gables.
