23-25 Townhead Street, Hamilton

15, 17, and 19 Townhead Street in Hamilton is a tenement building dating from the earlier to mid 19th century. It is three stories high and features eight bays, with an asymmetrical design and classical detailing. The building is constructed from cream sandstone ashlar and has a slate roof. The ground floor has a cornice, although it is partly obscured, and there is a corniced wallhead above. The windows are architraved, with block pediments on the first floor. Originally, the windows were 12-pane sash and case, but most have been replaced with modern versions that do not match the original character. The ground floor includes two close doors and four modern shopfronts. There are eight windows on the first and second floors, and the building has three ashlar ridge stacks, with two cut down and brick end stacks. The interior has not been seen.
