Description

Earlier 19th century, later alterations. Stable court comprising single and 2-storey range to front, single storey range to rear, further single storey building and boundary walls. Dark rubble sandstone, cream ashlar sandstone dressings, grey slate roof.

FRONT RANGE: 5-bay, symmetrical. 2-storey bay to centre, 2-leaf vehicle door flanked by windows at ground floor, 2 windows to 1st floor, centre bay flanked by single storey bays with wide 2-leaf

vehicle doors, and outer single storey and attic bays with 2-leaf vehicle doors and hayloft doors in gables above. Stacks to left and right return gables.

REAR RANGE: single storey range of cottages and ancillary buildings.

Various doors with tripartite fanlights, lying pane timber sash and

case windows, others boarded-up;various stacks.

SINGLE STOREY BUILDING TO RIGHT: tall single storey building with long-and-short type quoins and door margin as at Wiston Lodge, plain bargeboards (dilapidated), 2-leaf margined door to front gable with keystoned round-headed window above; later timber building adjoining. Various coped rubble boundary walls.

INTERIOR: not seen, although known to be damaged by fire in part.
