Stable Court, Wiston Lodge

Stable Court at Wiston Lodge is an earlier 19th-century stable complex that has undergone later alterations. The court consists of a front range with single and two-storey sections, a single-storey range at the rear, an additional single-storey building, and boundary walls. The structure is built of dark rubble sandstone with cream ashlar sandstone dressings and features a grey slate roof.

The front range is symmetrical with five bays. The central two-storey bay contains a two-leaf vehicle door flanked by windows on the ground floor, while the first floor has two windows. The central bay is flanked by single-storey bays that feature wide two-leaf vehicle doors, with outer single-storey and attic bays also having two-leaf vehicle doors and hayloft doors in the gables above. There are stacks on the left and right return gables.

The rear range consists of a single-storey collection of cottages and ancillary buildings, featuring various doors with tripartite fanlights, timber sash and case windows with some boarded up, and several stacks.

To the right is a tall single-storey building with long-and-short type quoins and a door margin similar to that of Wiston Lodge. It has plain bargeboards, which are currently dilapidated, and a two-leaf margined door at the front gable with a keystoned round-headed window above. There is also a later timber building adjoining this structure. The complex is enclosed by various coped rubble boundary walls.

The interior has not been seen but is known to be partially damaged by fire.
