Description
The Lodge at Baronald was built in 1890 by Sir John Burnet of Burnet Son and Campbell. It is a single-storey structure made of local coursed rubble with buff ashlar dressings and a plinth zone. The main part of the building is symmetrical, featuring a south front with a projecting gabled porch that has a corbelled masonry hood over the door and a shield panel in the tympanum. There are 2-light windows on either side of the porch, with plain architraves that have moulded arrises. Each side elevation has 3-light semi-circular bow windows. The roof is broad-eaved and low-pitched, covered with slate. At the rear, there is a single bay section that has been enlarged, and the chimneys have been removed. The building now has modern small-paned glazing.
