1-2 Double Row, Rosedale Street, New Lanark

3-4 Double Row on Rosedale Street in New Lanark is a late 18th century terrace of mill workers' houses, built in two phases and restored in 1994. The building is three stories high, with four bays on the northern side and twelve bays overall, designed to be two rooms deep. Each of the three-bay units features a central door flanked by windows on both the northern and southern elevations. The structure is made of random sandstone rubble with droved ashlar dressings, and it has long and short quoins. The fenestration is regular, with tabbed margins, and the symmetrical three-bay units have central doors and flanking windows.

On the southern elevation, there are stair windows between the first and second floors, with small square windows directly above them between the second and third floors. The windows predominantly feature 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case designs. The building has gable and ridge stacks with small clay cans, and the skews are topped with ashlar coping. The roof is covered with Scottish slate, and there is a stone flagged pavement on both the northern and southern sides.
