Description
Craigie Manse is a house built in 1808. It is harled, meaning the exterior walls are covered with a rough, white or coloured plaster. The house is two storeys high and has three sash windows on the front. Two splayed dormers, which are small roofed projections containing windows, are visible. The front of the house shows exposed random stonework, with dark-painted stone dressings and a band along the eaves. A modern doorway and fanlight (a semi-circular window above the door) have been added. A single-storey kitchen wing extends to the left. Details regarding the manse appear in the New Statistical Account, Volume V, page 767, and the 3rd Statistical Account, pages 579-8.
