Description
25 Dalblair Road in Ayr is a two-storey, ten-bay terrace of five houses, designed by Allan Stevenson in 1880. The building is constructed from coursed, tooled sandstone and features a base course, a first-floor cill course, an eaves course, and a mutulated timber cornice.
The southwest entrance elevation includes central consoled corniced doorpieces for houses 19 and 21, as well as 23 and 25, each topped with acroteria. The doors are made of timber and have letterbox fanlights above them. There are single windows aligned above these doors on the first floor, and tripartite windows on both floors in the flanking bays. House 17 to the right has an identical doorpiece and a single window above on the first floor, while the bay to the left features tripartite windows on both the ground and first floors.
The windows throughout the building are plate glass timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes wallhead and ridge coped stacks, along with circular and polygonal chimney cans.
The boundary of the property is marked by a coped wall that encloses the site, with a modern garage at No 17 and modern gates and railings. The interiors were not seen during the 1998 inspection.
