Description
35-39 Dalblair Road in Ayr is a mid-19th century, two-storey and attic, twelve-bay terraced tenement building constructed of coursed squared sandstone. It features a base course, an eaves course, and raised painted margins around the openings.
The southwest elevation, which serves as the entrance, has central entrances for Nos 29, 31, 33, and 35, each with timber doors and letterbox fanlights. Above the entrance to No 35, there is a single window aligned at the first floor, with outer single windows on both floors for all the units. Notably, there is a rounded angle on the northwest side for No 29.
The building showcases a variety of glazing patterns, including four-pane, eight-pane, and sixteen-pane timber sash and case windows, alongside some modern windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and features stone skews, a coped gablehead, and ridge stacks, with both circular and polygonal chimney cans.
The interiors were not seen during the inspection in 1998.
