Description
2 Queen's Terrace is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay house situated on a corner site in Ayr. The building is constructed from coursed sandstone and features a base course, a first-floor cill course, an eaves course, a cornice, a blocking course, and strip margins. The window openings have architraved margins, with cill blocks and painted surrounds on the ground floor openings facing west.
The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a central doorpiece that is pilastered, corniced, and topped with a block pediment. It includes a timber door and a letterbox fanlight, with a single window aligned above on the first floor. The flanking bays display regular fenestration on both the ground and first floors.
On the south elevation, which faces Bath Place, there is a square-headed entrance on the outer right with a timber door and a letterbox fanlight. To the left, there are two single windows at both the ground and first floors.
The ground floor features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, while the first floor has 6-pane upper sashes. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes stone skews, coped stacks, and circular cans.
A coped boundary wall is located to the outer right of the Bath Place elevation. The interior was not seen in 1998.
