Description
Grobsness Haa is an 18th-century, two-storey and attic building featuring a symmetrical three-bay layout with two bay gables. The exterior is constructed with lime harl pointed rubble walls, accented by stugged and droved sandstone ashlar dressings.
The west elevation is symmetrical, with a centrally located entrance door at ground level flanked by windows, and regular window placement on the first floor. The south gable is nearly symmetrical, with windows in the bays on the first floor and a partially infilled window in the attic on the left side. The east elevation is asymmetrical, consisting of three bays; it has a small window centered at ground level, a door to the right, and a window to the outer left. On the first floor, there is a small window centered, with partially infilled windows in the outer bays.
The building originally had a stone slab roof, which has now collapsed. Inside, there is a large segmental arched opening in the north gable, which may have been a lintel or safe lintel for the kitchen fireplace.
Surrounding the building is a rectangular enclosure with a random rubble wall adjacent to the west elevation, along with a two-chamber random rubble outbuilding located at the northwest corner. An additional outbuilding with a surviving south gable is situated to the east of the house.
