Harbour Building, Harbour, Lunna

The Limekiln at Harbour, Lunna, dates from the early 19th century and is part of a small harbour complex situated around an inlet. The inlet is bordered on the west side by a principal pier that extends north from a single-storey and attic pier building, which shows evidence of two construction periods. To the north, a secondary pier projects west from the shore and is linked by a drystone wall and steps to a bee-hive kiln located to the east.

The pier building has a gabled roof and features harl-pointed rubble walls. The south elevation is symmetrical, with two evenly spaced slit ventilators at ground level. The west gable has a full-height opening in the center, which includes a doorway at ground level (though the lintel is missing) and a narrower former loading door that extends into the gablehead. The north elevation is asymmetrical, with a rubble infilled door to the right of center, windows in the bays to the right, and a large modern door to the outer left. The east gable has a single window centered in the gablehead. All windows and ventilators are rubble-infilled, and the roof is covered with modern corrugated sheet cladding.

The west pier is constructed of random rubble, featuring a concrete surface and a low rubble wall along its western side. The north pier, wall, steps, and limekiln include a drystone wall that borders the northern side of the rubble north pier, with rubble steps leading to the east. The wall continues to the east, rising to meet a battered circular lime-kiln that has a full-height opening facing south.
