Description

Lamancha is a house that has been significantly altered and reduced in size by architect J Drummond Beaton in 1927. An illustration in Chambers History of Peeblesshire depicts the house with an additional storey, a long ridge roof, and an older crowstepped range at the back. The oldest part of the house that remains today is the vaulted basement, which may date back to 1663.
