Description
Scotstoun House is an interesting Georgian house built around 1770, set within wooded grounds. It was likely constructed by Alexander Telfer, who sold it to Captain Aeneas MacKay of the East India Company in 1787. The house retains a similar appearance to the illustration found in Chambers History of Peeblesshire, and its symmetrical plan and interior features are fully described in the Inventory.
