Description
3 Dovecot in Coldstream is a row of single-storey cottages built in the later 18th century in a Gothick style. The row consists of 11 bays, arranged in a pattern of 4-4-3 bays. The first cottage is constructed of rubble with ashlar margins, while the second and third are harled with ashlar margins. All doors and windows are pointed, with the windows featuring 7-tracery wooden glazing. The gable ends have battlemented parapet walls. There is a modern lintelled door in the south wall. Square towers with battlemented parapets are located in the 5th and 9th bays from the left. The north tower has a quatrefoil window, and the south tower features a square window with an arrow slit cross above it. The cottages have slate roofs that are piended on the towers, which also have brick stacks.
