Description

Branxholme Castle, as it existed in 1544, originally comprised a tower and a barmkin. After being demolished in 1570, it was rebuilt with structures on the north and south sides of a courtyard. The main range on the south side still survives, although it is obscured by additions made in 1790 and later.
