Description
Fingask Castle, dated 1592, has undergone significant alterations and additions. The original structure is a 3-storey building made of rubble with vaulted ceilings, designed in an approximate cross plan, which suffered considerable damage in 1746. A 2-storey and attic north wing featuring a circular tower that is corbelled to a square was added around 1850. Extensive additions from the early 19th century were removed in 1925, and the entire building was substantially restored both inside and out by Mills & Shepherd Architects.
