Description
The sundial at Fingask Castle, possibly dating from the 17th century, is an interesting early example of a two-stage truncated polyhedral Baroque design. The first stage features a faceted single-tier square base that transitions into a squat bulbous pedestal. The second stage consists of a complex multi-faceted globe with vertical and facet dials, although all faces have eroded over time.
