Description

Edrom Mains is a house built in the earlier to mid 19th century, with later alterations and additions. It is a two-storey, three-bay rectangular-plan structure with projections at the rear. The exterior features roughly-stugged sandstone with stugged ashlar dressings, while the rear and side elevations are constructed of rubble with stugged ashlar dressings.

On the south elevation, there is polished ashlar with a pilastered doorpiece at the center, which includes a modern flush door and a three-pane rectangular fanlight above. There is a window on the first floor above the door, and each flanking bay has a window on both floors.

The east elevation has a window at ground level in the bay to the right.

The north elevation features a full-height projection at the center, with a window at ground level to the left and a narrow window on the first floor to the right. There is a partly-glazed boarded door in the bay to the right of the east return elevation of the projection, with a window on the first floor aligned to the right. The left bay has an ashlar-mullioned bipartite window at ground level, with a window on the first floor and a small window on the first floor to the outer left. There is a single-storey lean-to addition in the bay to the right, which has a window to the left.

The west elevation has a blank end wall, with a single-storey lean-to addition at ground level in the projection to the left. This addition has a modern bipartite window to the right and a small window on the first floor to the outer right, along with a small window to the outer left at ground level.

The house features twelve-lying-pane timber sash and case windows on the south and east elevations, with various timber sash and case windows on the west and north. The roof is piended slate, with a piended slate roof on the projection to the north and a slate roof on the lean-to on the west elevation of the projection. There is an ashlar shouldered wallhead stack on the east elevation with a brick stack, and a rendered wallhead on the west elevation, along with a brick stack on the projection.

The interior was not seen in 1996.
