Description
Dumra is a late 18th century cottage that has undergone various alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries, with a date of 1872 noted. It is a single-storey, five-bay, L-plan building located on the main street of the village. The exterior features squared, coursed whinstone rubble with sandstone quoins and margins, while the rear section is painted and rendered. A modern uPVC conservatory has been added to the re-entrant angle at the back.
The entrance boasts a bi-fold timber boarded door with a pen-light above it. The windows are timber sash and case with an 8-pane glazing pattern. The roofs are covered with small grey graded slate, and there is a corniced ashlar stack with octagonal clay cans. The rear section has a corrugated roof.
Inside, the cottage has been modernised, resulting in changes to the original layout.
