Description

Dated 1836 with later alterations. Single storey with attic, 9-bay row of symmetrical farm workers' cottages. Harl-pointed squared and snecked whinstone with droved sandstone ashlar dressings. Stop-chamfered margins to door openings.

SE ELEVATION: round-arched niche with deep-set window; date carved on keystone. Boarded door to each adjacent inner bay. Timber mullioned bipartite window in each penultimate and inner adjacent bay. Boarded door to each outer bay.

NW ELEVATION: round-arched recess with window roughly to centre flanked to left by 2 windows, window to right. Window to each outer bay.

4-pane timber sash and case windows (where extant). Slate piended roof with truncated sandstone stacks to centre and to each cottage. Brick gabled dormerhead to centre and above each bipartite window.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1996.
