10 High Street, Paisley

10A High Street in Paisley is a three-storey building with an attic, designed by architect John Honeyman in 1871. The building features eight bays facing High Street, with four bays on the left set back, a quadrant corner bay, and a two-bay elevation on Moss Street. The ground floor is finished in ashlar with channeling, although modern shop fronts have been inserted. A cornice runs above the ground floor, except for the four western bays, and a blocking course serves as a cill course for the first-floor windows. These windows are architraved and flanked by pilasters that support alternating triangular and segmental pediments. The cornice above the first floor also acts as a cill course for the second-floor windows, which have lugged architraves at both the top and bottom. There is a cornice with a balustrade and dies, along with a clock positioned over the quadrant. The four western bays feature three pedimented dormers, with the outer pair being bipartite and the middle one having two chimneys disguised as acroteria. The roof is slate-covered and includes corniced stacks.
