Description
4 St Mirren Street in Paisley is a symmetrical, three-storey bank building designed by architects Peddie and Kinnear in 1875. The structure is made of ashlar stone and features five round-arched openings on the ground floor, with doors located in the outer bays. The outer bays also include two wide, two-storey canted oriel windows that rise from corbelled windows on the first floor, which have "Bank of Scotland" carved in a panel above them, with a string course raised over this panel. The first floor windows are transomed and have mullions for the oriels. On the second floor, there is one central window that is topped with a gablet and finials. The building is capped with crow-stepped gables over the outer bays and has a slate roof with end stacks.
