Description
11-15 Gauze Street in Paisley is a department store designed by architect Steel Maitland in 1925. The building has three storeys and an attic, featuring a seven-bay façade. The upper levels are constructed of ashlar stone, while the ground floor showcases bronze-framed display windows with small panes above and two doorways that are recessed to the left and right. A cornice runs above the ground floor. The first and second floors feature recessed canted bronze-framed windows, which are vertically linked by a bronze panel adorned with a relief of a wreath. There are ashlar piers between the windows, and the building is topped with an eaves cornice and a parapet. The roof is a mansard style, complete with skylights.
