Description
Myreside is a farmhouse located in Errol, dated 1864 and later enlarged. It is a two-storey building with four bays and features gabled roofs. The exterior is made of whitewashed polychrome brick with segmental-headed openings.
On the southeast elevation, there is an advanced gable to the right of the center, which has a window on each floor. To the outer right, there is a set-back bay with a window on each floor and a full-height stepped chimney breast in the re-entrant. A small gabled porch with a window projects to the left of the center, accompanied by a later lean-to porch in the re-entrant and another window set back beyond.
The southwest elevation has a broad low gable with a window to the right and a full-height stepped chimney breast with a narrow light to the left. There is a small incised stone in the gablehead that is dated.
The northwest (rear) elevation features an advanced gable to the left with a pentice-roofed bay at the ground level, a window above, and a dominant shouldered stack to the right. There is a flat-roofed extension in the re-entrant to the right.
On the northeast elevation, there is a later gable to the left with a window at the first floor and a further fixed window, which has been altered from a door, set back to the right.
The windows throughout the building are timber sash and case with 4- and 8-pane glazing patterns, except for the northwest extension. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and the chimney stacks are made of coped polychrome brick, with one being cavetto-coped and diamond-aligned, featuring some cans. The eaves overhang with plain bargeboarding and decorative braces, and there are cast-iron downpipes with decorative rainwater hoppers.
Inside, the farmhouse retains timber fire surrounds.
