Description
The Ancaster Arms Hotel is a large, late Victorian hotel building on Drummond Street in Comrie. Constructed of snecked dark local rubble with freestone dressings, the building is two stories and an attic in height. Its design is semi-symmetrical, featuring three canted bays alternating with windows. Above, three gablet dormers alternate with two piended dormers. The eastern two canted bays are two stories high, with a consoled doorpiece between them. The western canted bay is only at first floor level, and features an original Corinthianesque cast-iron columned shop-front at ground floor. The roof is slated.
