Description

The Mill of Dounie in Kirkmichael is a small and simple cornmill built from rubble. It features a 12-foot overshot wheel with an iron centre shaft and outer frame. The kiln dates from the mid-19th century. Although the workings are complete, the mill is in a dilapidated condition.
