Description

The Roman Bridge over the Birnam Burn at Murthly Castle is a mid-19th century structure featuring six arches that span a deep ravine, designed in the style of a Roman aqueduct. It is constructed with rustic masonry and includes heavy corbelled refuges at each spandril. The bridge is topped with a crenellated parapet and has wide approaches.
