Description
Easter Mylnefield Quarry Pier is an 18th-century structure that was enlarged around 1800 to 1806 and again in 1814. It features a dog-legged pier and wharf.
The east projecting arm is primarily from the 18th century and is built of rubble, with a top course of ashlar added in 1814. It includes two dressed circular holes for crane mountings, and a square embrasure cut into the base of one of these holes. The tip of the pier is rounded and has a circular-section bollard dated 1814, which has fallen due to erosion.
The west wharf, constructed in the early 19th century, is made of regular droved ashlar blocks. There is a second bollard set back from the angle where the two piers meet, while other bollards have either been overgrown or removed.
