Dalmore, Westpark Road, Blairgowrie

Westerton is a pair of gabled villas located on Westpark Road in Blairgowrie, built around 1910. These two-storey, two-bay villas feature mock half-timbering on the first floor and gable ends, constructed from bull-faced red sandstone with bull-faced dressings and Aberdeen bond on the ground southeast side, while the rest is made of random rubble and harl. The first floor jetties out, and the gable ends are also jettied. The windows include timber transoms and mullions.

On the southeast elevation, there is an advanced gabled bay to the right of center, which has a rectangular 10-light transomed window set on a battered base. This window is accompanied by a 6-light transomed window above it on the first floor and a single window on the return to the right at ground level. To the right, there is a lower set-back bay featuring a panelled timber door with a plate glass fanlight and a small window adjacent to the left. The bays to the left of center mirror this arrangement.

The northeast elevation has a jerkinhead roof with narrow windows on both the left and right sides at ground level. Above, there is a 6-light window in the center flanked by 4-light windows in the adjacent bays, all of which are transomed.

The southwest elevation mirrors the northeast elevation. The northwest (rear) elevation displays a variety of features, including a symmetrically-fenestrated layout with a piend-roofed single-storey wing at the center and an M-gable at the first floor.

Dalmor, located to the east, features original top-opening 4-pane glazing over plate glass in timber casement windows, along with some timber sash and case windows. Westerton has PVCu double glazing, which is out of character. The roofs are covered with red tiles and decorative terracotta ridge tiles, and there is a coped harled center stack with a full complement of terracotta cans. The eaves overhang, featuring plain bargeboarding, includes cast-iron downpipes with decorative rainwater hoppers.

Inside Dalmor, there is a winding timber balustered staircase and panelled timber doors, while the interior of Westerton was not seen in 2002.

The boundary walls consist of low saddleback-coped rubble with inset decorative ironwork railings and gates.
