Walled Garden, Pine Trees Hotel, Strathview Terrace, Pitlochry

Pine Trees Hotel is a single-storey, three-bay ancillary building, originally used as a laundry, built in 1892. It is situated within a rectangular-plan, partly walled garden of approximately one acre to the northeast of the hotel. The building is constructed of whitewashed rubble with dressed ashlar quoins, featuring stone mullions and chamfered arrises.

The southeast elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a central two-leaf multi-paned timber door flanked by blank bays and topped with a small pitch-roofed, timber-louvered ridge ventilator. The southwest elevation facing the garden displays a half-timbered gabled design with a tripartite window at the center. The northwest elevation is blank, featuring a shouldered stack that breaks the eaves at the center. The northeast elevation mirrors the southwest elevation.

Surrounding the building is a walled garden with high coped rubble walls to the north and east, lower walls to the south, and a coach house to the west, which is listed separately. The garden also includes an original cold frame structure for a herb garden.

The building features a 9-pane glazing pattern over plate glass in timber casement windows, grey slate roofing, and a banded coped whitewashed stack with cans. It has deeply overhanging eaves with plain bargeboarding and a cast-iron downpipe with a decorative rainwater hopper.
