Description
The Windmill Stump at Rapness, Helzie, Westray, is an early 19th-century circular tower that tapers upwards. It is made of solid rubble and stands 3 meters high. The stump of a turret post mill has a diameter of 3.3 meters at the base and 2.4 meters at the top. The central post and the substructure, which housed the sails, are missing.
