Description

6 Victoria Place is a mid to later 19th century, two-storey, four-bay, rectangular-plan, mirrored pair of gabled semi-detached villas. The exterior is finished in harled rubble with ashlar margins and features decorative first-floor balconies with cast-iron balustrades and barge boarded overhanging eaves.

On the south elevation, there are paired two-leaf timber panelled doors at the center, each with a semicircular-arched fanlight and a chamfered reveal. Above, a consoled projecting semicircular-arched canopy with acanthus cresting is present. The elevation also includes stone mullioned bipartite windows with swept dormerheads breaking the eaves. To the right of the entrance, there is a bipartite window with a projecting cill and a decorative balcony above, also with a cast-iron balustrade. A semicircular-arched window is set within a gabled dormer, featuring a blind relieving arch and a finial at the apex of the gable, with swept skewputts.

The north elevation features a large two-storey modern addition on the left, while the right elevation is not visible as of 2001. The east side elevation has two windows to the right. The west side elevation includes an advanced single-storey gabled bay to the right, with a small gable breaking the eaves over a window on the right return.

The windows are designed with four-pane lower sashes and leaded upper sashes. The roof is covered with grey slates and lead flashing, and there are coped gable stacks with decorative coped cans.

The interior was not seen in 2001. The property is also accompanied by cast-iron finialed posts that support decorative wrought-iron gates.
