Description
An early 19th century road bridge spans the North Calder Water, located on an old roadway that now leads to the Golf Club. The bridge, situated on the boundary of the City of Glasgow, carries Roundknowe Road. It features a single, large, semi-circular span constructed primarily of bull-faced ashlar. Recessed arch-rings have a droved finish, while the parapets are polished and incorporate steel strengthening bars. The bridge may have been part of Thomas Telford's Glasgow/Edinburgh-Carlisle roads scheme from the 1820s. The statutory address is Roundknowe Road bridge at Calderpark over North Calder Water.
