Description
The North West Waiting Room at Daldowie Crematorium in Glasgow was designed by Lanarkshire County Architect William Watt in 1950. This crematorium features a symmetrical ashlar-built design with a wide domed center that includes a flue. At the front, there is a wide entrance vestibule, and on either side, there are two piended (slated) chapels arranged in a Butterfly-plan layout, each with round-arched windows and a porch on the outer end walls. There are loggias to the south and steps leading to the garden. Additionally, there are detached pairs of shelters, known as the East and West Waiting Rooms, located at the driveway, which are likely not original to the design.
