Description
The building at 16 and 18 New Street in Dalry is a bank designed by David Barclay and completed in 1877. It features two storeys and an attic, with a three-bay façade made of polished red sandstone. The central entrance is highlighted by a pediment and is supported by Ionic columns. There are three windows in the outer bays, each with apron panels, and the rightmost bay has a later added door. A continuous cornice runs above the ground floor, while the first floor showcases pilastered and architraved tripartite windows, with the central window topped by a segmental pediment and flanked by two others. A continuous cornice links the pediments, and the parapet is pierced in front of the pedimented dormers. The central gable features a small round-headed architraved window, and the building is topped with a slate roof.
