28 Main Street, Dalry

28 Main Street in Dalry is a corner building dated 1870, featuring two storeys and an attic, constructed of painted ashlar. The elevation facing Main Street has shop windows and doors arranged asymmetrically on the ground floor, with a canted angle that includes a central light of tripartite design on both the ground and first floors. There are three return bays on the Kirk Close side. A continuous cornice runs above the ground floor, and each elevation has two sash windows and one dormer. The building is topped with a slate roof that is piended at an angle and features a dentilled cornice, along with two corbelled and corniced wallhead stacks. Above the door to Kirk Close, there is a rectangular, double-faced white plastic sign displaying "LOUNGE" in red lettering.

Inside, the interior retains a mostly intact decorative scheme from 1958/60. The bar counter, which has slatted vertical timber detailing, tapers towards the floor. There is a simple shelved timber gantry, and a pair of snugs with sliding timber doors, timber panelling, high-level glass panels, and bell pushes. The lounge bar includes two tiled fire surrounds with timber mantels, and the timber bar counter features a mirrored gantry at the rear.
