Description

1 Iowa Place on Pilmuir Road in Forres is a mid-19th century L-plan range of six cottages, featuring a single storey and an attic. The cottages are constructed from rubble with tooled margins. Notably, No. 6 has a bowed corner with "IOWA PLACE" inscribed on the splay above the window. The cottages have 12-pane sash windows, and piended or canted dormers that break the eaves. The fenestration is asymmetrical, with 4-pane sashes located at the rear. The roof is covered with slate.
