Description

East End Primary School, built between 1830 and 1833 by Archibald Simpson, features a large rectangular school hall designed in a classical style. It is connected to Anderson's Institution by a service wing. In 1903, John Wittet made additions that included three classrooms linked to the main block. The outer additions consist of five bays, while the central addition has four bays. The building is constructed of finely tooled ashlar and has shallow gabled slate roofs along with long multi-pane windows.
