Description
Rattar House is an early 19th century, symmetrical, 2-storey, 3-bay house designed in an H-plan. The front elevation faces southeast and features harled walls with ashlar margins. The center bay is recessed and has a door beneath an ashlar bracketed canopy that connects the outer gabled crowstepped bays. Each gable head has round-headed lancets. The northeast and southwest side elevations have symmetrical 3-bay fenestration, with shorter windows on the first floors; some of these windows are blind and feature 12-pane glazing. The house has paired ridge stacks, crowsteps, and slate roofs. A modern sun parlour has been added, covering the ground floor of the southwest elevation.
