Description

The Gate Lodge at the Castle of Mey is an early 19th-century single-storey structure. It features a canted west gable that faces the drive and is constructed of harled rubble with ashlar margins. The canted gable has three pointed-headed windows, with the central window showcasing original intersecting astragals and multi-pane glazing.

The entrance is located in the three-bay north elevation. The lodge has a pair of corniced stacks at the center of the ridge and is topped with a slate roof. The gate is marked by a pair of square rubble gate piers, each capped with shallow pyramidal tops.
