Description

14-16 Bridge Street in Inverness is a building dating from 1794. It is constructed of ashlar and stands three storeys tall with a ten-bay front. The two westernmost bays are slightly advanced. The ground floor features pilastraded shopfronts. On the first floor, the westernmost window is tripartite, pilastered, and corniced, with a panelled apron below it. The window next to the westernmost one is also architraved and corniced, with a panelled apron. The remaining windows on this floor are architraved with consoled pediments and panelled aprons. On the second floor, the westernmost window is tripartite, while the eight eastern windows have lugged architraves. There is a cill course present. The building is topped with a cornice and parapet, which was originally a balustrade, and it has a slated roof.
