Description
Thatched Cottage in Lonbain is a small, single-storey building dating from the earlier to mid-19th century. It faces west and features three bays. The cottage is likely cruck-framed and constructed from drystone rubble. The entrance is located at the center and has roughly dressed door jambs, with small windows flanking it. There is also a small central light at the rear. The north gablet is pegged turf, and the roof is straw thatched. There are no chimneys, but clay drainpipes project at each rounded apex to function as flues. Inside, the cottage is said to be timber lined.
