Description

The Servants' Tunnel at Cromarty House is a later 19th-century structure, measuring 200 feet long. It features a vaulted design that connects the road to Cromarty with the side entrance designated for servants at Cromarty House. The tunnel is paved in the center with cobbles, with additional cobbles on each side and occasional circular air vents. The large vaulted entrance is equipped with iron gates and flanking walls. Inside the entrance, there are vaulted chambers on the left and right, resembling icehouses, each originally having two doorways that are now blocked and were checked for close-fitting doors.
